Trump vs. JFK

A Contrast in Style and Substance

Donald Trump, JFK
Reading Time: 1 minute

John F. Kennedy would have turned 99 today. We will never know what he, as the father of modern campaigning, would have thought about this year’s presidential race, but chances are that he would have been stunned by what now passes for political discourse.

Kennedy once said of Richard Nixon, “He has no class.” We can only imagine what he would have said about Donald Trump.

So, in honor of Kennedy’s birthday — and Trump clinching the number of delegates needed to become the Republican nominee — here is a small, thoroughly unscientific sample of both men in action.

As they say in an alternate journalistic universe, you decide.

I suspect we are underestimating Trump. It is a presidential campaign after all; he plays a script designed to attract voters. Kennedy was establishment, royalty; he had totally different top position compared to Trump today. So was his talk different. In the old days acting was not so important. The TV debates had just started playing a role. Looking back at the Obama campaigns: it was total mind control effort – he did set a new standard.
It is easy to see what Trump is doing. He cleverly overplays the rest of the contenders going populist. He may collapse the system and transform the country as Gorbachev did in S.U.

I am not a Trump supporter. For me none of the candidates are qualified for the job. Besides, I expect they [the controllers] will do everything possible to get the Clinton family back into the White House. Unless proven otherwise this is what will happen.

I have actually avoided seeing the top few candidates, I read about them instead. Trump is actually MORE embarrassing than Bush Jr. , appallingly. I blame the destruction of the educational system. There is also a sort of ignorance-worship going on: people being proud of their wilful narrow-mindedness. Jefferson believed, and I think , rightly so, that no democracy could survive ignorance. So we slip into fascism. Calling a nation a republic does not make it so. This is just a play on words.

To be fair please write the same article comparing Hillary next week. This site devotes itself to exposing corruption. She could fill an encyclopedia.
