Bush Makes Money off Injured Vets: Media Finally Notices

Reading Time: < 1 minute

When ABC News ran a story on July 8 about former President George W. Bush pocketing $100,000 for a speech to a group that assists wounded veterans, we at WhoWhatWhy thought, “Hmm, that sounds familiar.” And guess what, it was!

Turns out we covered the story behind ABC’s “scoop” eight months ago. So because we assume ABC would like to know what’s going on in the world a lot sooner, we’ve added them to our news roundup mailing list. You can get in on it too by simply signing up for our newsletter.

As for the story itself, we must admit that things always seem to go W’s way, even when he causes the most horrific problems for others. Consider this: Bush started a war that even his brother Jeb thought was a bad idea (after changing his mind a few times). That war resulted in tens of thousands of injured veterans.

Then Bush banked $100,000 for speaking to a group—Helping a Hero—aiming to help the very veterans that his decisions as commander in chief helped harm. (And the year before, Laura Bush pocketed $50,000 for speaking to the same group.)

That certainly sounds like a lucrative racket and it’s good that the mainstream media finally got around to reporting on it.

The coldness of these people is always a shock and disappointment to me. They have no soul.

  3. BUSH!!!! Just the name can ruin my day and that’s tough when you live on a ‘South Seas Island’. A lot of bushes. Fortunately very beautiful bushes, not like the ‘bushes from hell that look like weeds that live in Texas’. Hey @snoopy squeaks, I can’t say any more. You said it all with style. And by the way; RUSS BAKER is a human being who’s name should be on the ballot. But then again, he’s better off not having to hang out with all those mutants! Come on BERNIE!!!!

Doesn’t surprise me at all, after starting Baker’s book about Bush family. Seems that the Bush family “values” began long ago, even before Prescott Bush. It’s terrible to think another Bush might be President, but it’s just as terrible to envision another Clinton in office. We have about 330 million people and all we can do is get the same puppets over and over? This should be first clue to Americans that we are not dealing with a democracy, but some kind of transnational oligarchy.

  6. I hope this doesn’t surprise anyone. GWB should be hung for what he’s done to America!
