Craig Barnes’s intro to this is a well written essay on its own.

He starts in calling the CIA cancerous, but was not all of that a logical conseqence of having just gone through WWII and realizing the strategic power of oil, and the ways different hegemonies interact and work?  What else would responsible leaders think of doing?  Something had to carry the flag for the western economic system.

This was destined to happen and … i hate to even say it … had to happen because the primary goal of the US was to survive, and that means the elite who run things.  It surely must have morphed quite a bit over the decades, and who knows that the basic idea did not go back to the plantation system in the south?

Some of Kevin Ryan’s best which updates a lot of the information here.  Or at least corresponds to it.  Excellent interview!

More Oily Connections:  http://911blogger.com/news/2012-02-18/london-based-oil-executive-linked-911-hijackers

“A Saudi Arabian accused of associating with several of the September 11 hijackers and who disappeared from his home in the United States a few weeks before the attacks on the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon, is in London working for his country’s state oil company.”
