Donald Trump spent his Saturday morning fantasizing about stripping entertainer Rosie O'Donnell of her citizenship, which is an authority he does not have.

Just a few days ago, Donald Trump bristled at a reporter from a MAGA-friendly newspaper who dared to ask Attorney General Pam Bondi a question about the president’s old pal Jeffrey Epstein. Trump suggested that there are more important things going on in the world that demand his, and the nation’s attention.

Apparently, one of those issues is Rosie O’Donnell.

To be honest, we haven’t kept up with the talk show host, couldn’t tell you what she is doing right now, or thought about her in years.

The same cannot be said for the president.

“Because of the fact that Rosie O’Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship,” Trump wrote in a social media post. “She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”

We have no idea what O’Donnell did to get under Trump’s thin skin, but our best guess is that somebody on Fox News mentioned her name.

It’s either that or her picture showed up in the daily intelligence briefing because she actually planned an attack on the United States and does pose a “threat to humanity.”

Based on Trump’s post, it might sound like it’s the latter, but it was very likely some version of the former.

In any case, there is no constitutional authority that would allow him to take away her citizenship, so the president can give this important topic all of the consideration he wants.

Of course, this isn’t really about O’Donnell, it’s about the aforementioned Epstein, who is turning out to become quite a headache for Trump.

His otherwise loyal MAGA nation is in uproar because they were promised that the president would release a bunch of files related to his erstwhile friend’s crimes, connections, and manner of death.

However, Bondi this week released a memo that essentially declared the case closed… and that has really upset Trump’s base.

While the president’s supporters are on board with any unconstitutional thing he does, they are drawing the line at Epstein — especially because Trump and many other members of his administration promised total transparency in the case and teased major revelations.

Now the president has to figure out how to quell this dissension, and this is apparently the best thing he could come up with.

In other words, this is just a shiny object to dangle in front of his loyalists to get their imagination going.

Because, if Trump can revoke her citizenship (which he cannot), then what about that of other natural-born MAGA enemies, such as Joe and Hunter Biden, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), James Comey, Taylor Swift, California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D), a bunch of district court judges, Jack Smith, and Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY)?

The possibilities are endless, but will his base bite?

If not, we wonder what Trump will come up with next. Maybe he’ll move up that UFC fight that he wants to stage at the White House next year, or ICE agents will livestream their next raids.

Whatever it is, it’ll be pretty dumb.
