In one of his trademark holiday rants, Donald Trump fully embraced white nationalist ideals and once again proved that he has no idea what the United States is all about.

Ever since right-wing podcaster Tucker Carlson interviewed prominent white nationalist Nick Fuentes on his show last month, a debate has been raging within the GOP over just how openly racist the party should be.
Mind you, this isn’t about this administration’s platform. Most Republicans are perfectly fine with xenophobic and racist policies. They just don’t want to talk about them in those terms and prefer to cloak their initiatives in language that conceals their actual intent.
For example, earlier this week, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) told The Hill that he believes some of the things Fuentes talks about are “not just antisemitic” but also “openly racist” and “violent.”
He added that “we should not be giving a platform to amplify those views. And I think that’s important for us to say.”
Well, Donald Trump seems to feel differently about that.
On Thursday, the president went full white nationalist in one of his trademark unhinged holiday messages in which he announced that he would “permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries.”
In case you are wondering, that means migration from just about any country in which white people aren’t the majority (although we suppose that white Afrikaners will still be allowed).
Trump added that he would enact a range of anti-immigration measures and “remove anyone who is not a net asset to the United States, or is incapable of loving our Country.”
This also includes “denaturalizing” immigrants who “undermine domestic tranquility.” If you are not sure what that means, then just stay tuned, because we believe that Stephen Miller is about to explain it to us in no uncertain terms.
Speaking of, in setting out his new policies, Trump used the same language popular with fellow white nationalists, such as stressing that he wants to remove immigrants who are “non-compatible with Western Civilization.”
The president proclaimed that this would lead to a “major reduction in illegal and disruptive populations,” which is the kind of language despots have always used to scapegoat certain demographics and dehumanize them.
And, indeed, Trump made it sound as though immigration is some sort of disease that ails the United States.
“Only REVERSE MIGRATION can fully cure this situation,” he wrote.
In a separate post, the president said that immigration policies he called “plain stupid” have allowed the US to be “divided, disrupted, carved up, murdered, beaten, mugged, and laughed at,” and suggested that immigrants are a burden on society (which is not borne out by the facts).
“[Immigrants] and their children are supported through massive payments from Patriotic American Citizens who, because of their beautiful hearts, do not want to openly complain or cause trouble in any way, shape, or form,” he wrote. “They put up with what has happened to our Country, but it’s eating them alive to do so!”
First of all, those children, as long as they are born in the United States, are every bit as American as Trump and his immigrant wife.
More importantly, if you are reading between the lines, the president is trying to place the blame for the deteriorating economy and higher prices at the feet of immigrants in an effort to distract from the calamitous impact that his tariffs and his deportation policy are having.
It is quite ironic that Trump chose Thanksgiving for his tirade. After all, the holiday celebrates how the native population of what is now the United States welcomed newly arriving immigrants and helped them survive and thrive.
The president concluded his rant by wishing a “HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL, except those that hate, steal, murder, and destroy everything that America stands for — You won’t be here for long!”
Which is also quite ironic, since a case can be made that it is the likes of Trump and Fuentes who are the ones out to end what has made the United States a beacon for the rest of the world.
