By his own admission, Donald Trump doesn't know much. We explore the reasons why he is so ignorant.

Do all people residing in the US deserve due process? Don’t ask the president of the United States… he ain’t a lawyer. Where did that AI-generated image of Donald Trump dressed as the pope that he posted to his social media account come from? He has no clue. Is the administration sending migrants to Libya? Knowing that apparently isn’t the job of a president. But surely upholding the Constitution is, right? Well, Trump doesn’t have an answer for that brain teaser either.

In fact, there seems to be a lot the president doesn’t know… and those are just examples from the past few days.

What gives?

Is he not smart enough? That can’t be it because Trump assures us that he is a stable genius, and his sycophants keep telling us that he is brilliant.

Could it be possible that he knew the answers to these questions at some point and simply forgot? That seems highly unlikely… that man is as sharp as a tack.

Remember “Person, Woman, Man, Camera, TV?” Trump did!

Perhaps a nefarious cabal of staffers is keeping the president in the dark about what his administration is up to… and what the Constitution says. But that also doesn’t sound right. After all, he hand-picked only the most loyal right-wing minds in the country to do his bidding.

So, what could it be?

The answer is multifaceted.

First of all, in reality, it could be all of these things.

Trump is just not that bright or educated, so it’s very possible that he really is clueless about the law or the Constitution.

And his mind has been slipping, no matter what that test for senile people says, so somebody may have told him about that Libya thing and he just forgot.

It is also probable that people in his administration are doing things without his explicit consent simply because they know he would approve.

Ironically, some of these are charges that Trump and other Republicans levied against Joe Biden in the past… and not even without merit.

He really should not have been president toward the end of his term.

But neither should Trump.

There is, however, a big difference between the two men, and it is something we have noted in the past: Trump just doesn’t care.

He doesn’t care about Americans, he doesn’t care about the Constitution, and he doesn’t care about learning stuff or being informed.

Instead, he cares about the power and the adulation… and that’s certainly not sufficient for someone who has sworn to uphold a Constitution he knows nothing about.
