A look at some of our favorite Sunday editorials. This year, they had more of a common theme than we would have preferred. Then again, Donald Trump poses a unique threat to the Constitution and the founding ideals of the United States, so calling out his lawlessness is our most important responsibility.

Not surprisingly, Donald Trump dominated our Sunday editorials. However, instead of solely focusing on his latest unconstitutional and undemocratic actions, we tried to also examine how we got to this moment, put it into a historical context, and look ahead to what will come next. 

And, instead of choosing an “all Trump, all the time” approach, we also highlighted media failures and the shortcomings of Democratic leaders as they repeatedly failed to rise to the challenge of this moment. 

Finally, we issued calls to the American people to wake up and right the ship before doing so becomes immeasurably more difficult.
