I don’t think these guys actually know what they’re talking about regarding W and the ousting of Saddam. So much left out. The fact that we were in a state of war with Iraq (called a cease fire) which Saddam violated the terms of over an over, the fact that the democrat hypocrites who created the Iraq Liberation Act in 1998″ signed by Clinto on, which made regime change in Iraq our national policy and law of the land, the obvious cat and mouse game being played by the Iraqis against the inspectors, and the important information from General Georges Sada in which he relates from his cat bird seat as a high renaming Iraqi Air Force general who talked to the pilots who flew the WMD out of Iraq to Syria…and on and on and on. The notion that the government was simply seized by Rumsfeld, Cheney et al is absurd. Halliburton? Oil? If we went into Iraq for oil companies then why haven’t they really got Iraqi oil? Just a weak weak thesis, largely innuendo. Why would Rumsfeld have told the country about the missing trillion dollars from the defense budget? If he is part of the secret government, why would he have even brought it up? So much dubious theories from the left.

    • Mitchell Renner says:

You don’t mention if you have read “Family of Secrets”. Just the same argument, pitting right against left. Most understand it was a part of the geopolitical strategy to control the Middle East. You’re just throwing the same disinformation out there that was used to justify it when it happened.

    • Wiserwithage says:

We can speculate about the Bushes , et al, and the globalism conspiracies. All they offer is the obvious observation that if the events of the past 15 or so years is the Bushes “controlling the middleast” then why hasn’t anyone actually profited from the effort?

    • Mitchell Renner says:

A lot of people in power have profited from our expansion in the Middle East and South Asia. Are you kidding me? Please do your research – inform yourself.

    • Wiserwithage says:

Who specifically profited from and still profits from our incursions into the Middleast? I often hear the accusation that the wars were done for oil or something. But no one has ever demonstrated who these beneficiaries were! Who?

    • Mitchell Renner says:

Arms sales among the top 100 companies between 2002 and 2011 increased 51% according to USA Today. The defense budget increased from $312 billion to $712 billion. I’m also going to go out on a limb here and say the Carlyle Group, which has close ties to the Bush family, and Halliburton, which Cheney headed, to name just two firms, profitted generously.

    • Wiserwithage says:

Of course the defense budget and arms sales go up. That’s what happens when you have war. The rest of your post is a fact free claim based upon your “feelings”.

    • Mitchell Renner says:

You asked who profitted, and I replied. You said no-one profitted, and now you’re backing out of that statement. And you are claiming that the 2 firms mentioned did not profit from the wars in the Middle East.

    • Wiserwithage says:

Your insinuation is that “someone” profited. Clearly all that happened was that some defense spending increased. Here in the US of A what has happened is that the defense budget has been cut, male soldiers are forced into “sensitivity” training in high heels, and the BIG issue is whether we *feel* that someone who *feels* like they are not the sex they were born can use the opposite sex bathroom. Brave new world.

(Comment by reader Jeff Smith) The regime in office now makes W look like a choir boy. Much like everything else on Facebook the article has been embellished to the point of non credibility. If these keyboard junkies spent as much time on solutions instead of criticism we might just get somewhere productive.

(Comment by reader Rick Montgomery) Where’s Neil? You know the one that stole the $35 million from Silverado Savings & Loan! Still lives in California. Tax payers got Bushwacked!

I archived this Air America radio interview from 2009 on the same subject carried out by Ron Reagan which this group may also be interested in @ http://eddieleaks.org/prescott-bush-had-big-secrets/

  5. Sinner88 says:

Some people are simply evil! and it runs deep in the family. Sometimes a good family member never comes along to change the family tradition, and so the evil family just continues, and festers.

  6. PecosinRat says:

Russ, I enjoyed this pair of interviews as an intro to all the investigative work that you have done. Also, hearing you makes it a little clearer–from your discussion of what happens to authors when taboo subjects are raised in the media–why you haven’t tackled the 9/11 issue more directly. The avoidance of this subject by one who has demonstrated a willingness to take on difficult subjects must be silent testimony to an insider’s appraisal of the pervasive influence, raw power, and murderous sensibilities of those people needing to keep 9/11 invisible to the American people.

  7. Steve Sperdacion says:

Hmmm Bush family has Nazi ties and when in power they start illegal wars and use torture to justify them. Hmmm let’s elect Jeb!

(Comment by reader Mike Wilson) George H.W. Bush didn’t know where he was the day JFK was murdered, 11-22-63. Ummm……ok.

  10. From Our Facebook Page says:

(Comment by reader Ed Duncan) My godmother lost a fortune after W’s Uncle Billy (an investment banker) invested ALL of their funds in GWB’s failed oil business.

(Comment by reader Michael ODonnell) A vote Not for another Bush is in fact a positive statement that nepotism, family dynastic rule, and cultism will Not be permitted to keep taking America down a path to Plutocracy. Plus, pathological speaking, his brief campaign so far has exposed Jeb as being ‘tied with” Dubya as Leading Putz in the Bush clan.
