President Donald Trump’s desire to let Vladimir Putin keep the ill-gotten territory he stole from Ukraine may come from his notion that the two world leaders are kindred spirits. They share grievances against the media and the US security apparatus. He just wants to do old Vlad a solid and let him take Ukraine’s mineral assets as long as Trump and/or America gets a little taste of the action.
