The survivor of a Russian missile attack tells her story.
Yuliia Kulchytska, 41, was at the train station in Kramatorsk, Ukraine, on April 8 to see off her daughter’s boyfriend, who was headed to Kyiv, when the station came under a Russian missile strike.
She lost her leg and came close to losing her life.
In a May 7 video call, WhoWhatWhy correspondent Iryna Kabluchko interviews Kulchytska — an animal lover, poet, and mother of two — from an apartment where she was temporarily staying in the city of Dnipro.
In the interview, Kulchytska talks about her harrowing experience at the train station, her recovery, and her hopes for the future.
