The author writes, “Researchers say they recently found Google ads delivering a sophisticated tech support scam that ‘freezes’ Windows and Mac devices and displays a message instructing them to phone a bogus call center. … Callers were urged to pay hefty fees, grant remote access to devices or share personal information. Their devices, however, aren’t actually locked — here’s the simple fix.”
‘New Obama’ Dem Sounding More and More Like 2028 White House Candidate (Reader Jim)
The author writes, “Democratic socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez last week said she’s looking at making a run for president in 2028. ‘There’s an argument that some make that this is a very unique political window and, oftentimes in politics, you do only get one shot,’ Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) told the New York Times. AOC continued, ‘And you don’t — and just in life in general — life doesn’t wait for you to be ready for things. Sometimes life just makes things ready for you.’ Ocasio-Cortez could also run for the US Senate from New York.”

Found on Newcastle Ranch, ‘Rex Jr.’ Could Be Most Important T. Rex Ever Discovered (Dana)
From Cowboy State Daily: “A partial but perfect Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton from eastern Wyoming is poised to upend everything the world thought it knew about the Tyrant Lizard King. ‘Rex Junior’ is one of the many spectacular fossils currently being studied at the University of Chicago’s Fossil Lab. It’s the partial skeleton of a sub-adult T. rex found on the legendary Zerbst Ranch near Newcastle. Outwardly, Rex Jr. isn’t that exciting. There’s no skull, most of the tail is missing, and its skeleton is encased in some of the hardest rock imaginable. Now that the fossils have been exposed after 67 million years, it could be the most important T. rex that has or will ever be found.”
