Trump and Vance are mad at Pope Francis for lecturing them about caring for immigrants.

Pope Francis noticed the Trump administration’s efforts to perform mass deportations and has called out Vice President JD Vance for coming up with bogus excuses in religious doctrine to permit the treatment of immigrants as criminals. This cruel approach to immigration management goes against the teachings of Jesus.

Pope Francis writes

The act of deporting people who in many cases have left their own land for reasons of extreme poverty, insecurity, exploitation, persecution, or serious deterioration of the environment, damages the dignity of many men and women, and of entire families, and places them in a state of particular vulnerability and defenselessness.

Republican supporters are now condemning the pope as woke and anti-Trump. This will mostly be ignored in the right-wing media so that Catholic Republicans will probably not be aware of the criticism.
