Is Donald Trump positioning his attorney general as the scapegoat for the Epstein coverup?

Attorney General Pam Bondi has distinguished herself among her Cabinet peers in her sycophancy to President Donald Trump. She has let the Department of Justice (DOJ) be used as the personal law firm for the president — used to sue universities, government entities, many private citizens, and private companies. Bondi has also conducted internal investigations and mass firings of DOJ personnel in any way connected with investigations into January 6, Trump, the Trump Organization, or the Trump administration.

Now Bondi is in the hot seat with Trump’s MAGA base because she claims that the Epstein client list does not exist. This has thrown all the Epstein conspiracy mongers into a rage that has been sweeping across the internet for a week and only seems to be picking up energy, as news coverage of Epstein is finally being widely disseminated. Her boss has been making matters worse by behaving like he’s guilty.

Bondi has defended the kidnapping of immigrants and sending them on deportation flights to third-party countries and foreign gulags. There is proof that many of these people have no criminal record. Many others may have convictions for minor offenses like driving without a license.

All of these detainees should be brought back to the US and given due process. The cruelty is the point of this approach to immigration enforcement. The administration wants to encourage self-deportation by legal immigrants in the US. And the fear of being held in Alligator Alcatraz, shipped off to CECOT in El Salvador, or shipped to some random third-world country may make potential new immigrants think twice about crossing the border in the first place.

The question for Bondi is will her record of being an attack dog for Trump save her job when the president finally needs to find someone to blame for the Epstein coverup.
