Is Jared Kushner Getting Ready to Plunder?

I watched a presentation by the son-in-law of the president of the United States describing the work he’s been doing with his sidekick, Steve Witkoff, to solve “the Gaza problem.” I didn’t hear much talk about consulting with the Palestinians, but I did hear a lot of talk about great progress and building something grand. Jared Kushner’s plan appears to be to count on the Israelis actually wanting to embrace a two-state solution. How the Palestinians will benefit in the end is a mystery. 

Kushner extols the progress and the hard work by partners, but he doesn’t present any details. Kushner previously said, “Gaza’s waterfront property could be very valuable … if people would focus on building up livelihoods.” Ah, all the Palestinians have to do is Miamify their coastline!

Kushner and Witkoff have also been negotiating peace in Ukraine, with even less success than in Gaza. Their main solution for peace appears to be total capitulation by Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Vladimir Putin’s aggression. 

Meanwhile, Kushner and his wife, Ivanka Trump, have been involved in a development project in Albania to create a luxury resort on Sazan Island and the mainland shore opposite the island. The multibillion dollar project has caused great controversy. The island includes an ecologically sensitive wetland area, home to endangered migratory birds.
