Jackie Robinson! JACKIE ROBINSON! The Trump administration tried to cancel Jackie Robinson!
President Donald Trump has empowered Elon Musk’s squad of barely post-pubescent tech bros to search through government websites to discover references to any non-white and/or non-male people. Then they are renaming page links (URLs) to add the letters “die.” This makes the URLs result in a “404 file not found” error page.
They’re breaking the links. They’re hiding the pages They’re trying to destroy the legacy of people who served America. The takedown also included pages honoring the Navajo Code Talkers, the Tuskegee Airmen, the Marines at Iwo Jima, and many others.
This wholesale erasing from history of the accomplishments of minority service members is a gross act of racism by Trump’s gang of white supremacists. And it is how they came to remove a page honoring baseball legend Jackie Robinson. The Department of Defense eventually restored the Robinson page — after an outpouring of public outrage.
