OPINION

Under a banner proclaiming “Life Is Winning,” Vice President Mike Pence spoke to a gathering of mostly religious supporters Wednesday in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building in Washington, DC. Pence began,

Thank you. Thank you all. Thank you all very much. And today is really about — really about celebrating the progress we’ve made in the cause for life and also thanking the leaders that are gathered in this room, and all of you that’ll be looking on livestream around the country, for the way that you’ve stood. You’ve stood for life for the last four years, and I promise you we will never stop fighting for the right to life.

He did not mention the last-ditch effort to execute as many federal prisoners as possible.

With a straight face the vice president added,

When the President asked me to lead the White House Coronavirus Task Force — I’ll never forget the day — he said, ‘Mike, I want you to step down; I want you to work with our outstanding health leadership all across this administration, across the country, with one mission’ — and that was to save lives. We launched the greatest national mobilization since World War Two.

The ability of Pence to compare the administration’s mostly performative response to the pandemic — which has now taken the lives of some 300,000 Americans — to the national mobilization in World War II reaffirms that lying with impunity is not limited to the president in this administration.

This hysterical preoccupation of many Christians with the human fetus is puzzling.

Since Jesus never said a word about abortion, he did say “Love your enemies,” “pray to the Father in secret,” “Give to everyone who begs from you” but apparently, those don’t count.

Believers would rather sit in the pews and worship Christ on a pedestal instead of following Jesus.

This hysterical focus on the fetus is puzzling. Once a baby is born, Trump & Pence do not seem to care at all.

In trying to keep my comments civil and relevant so I’ll propose a question or two instead of comment.

Does anyone here at WWW think King Virus Trump will leave the White House tied in a straight jacket and strapped to a gurney besides me. I have been saying this is what would happen since before he was six months into this catastrophe?

Does anyone feel more secure now that they did under any of the last nine presidents.

    Isn’t Putin still winning?

And last but not least why is it that WWW can’t seem to understand that trying to “play nice”, being civil and respectful when neither is justified, with the abs0lute scoundrels that permeate both parties in our congress and intelligence community will not reap the result we need to correct the course of our nation.

Have a nice holiday season and keep the Malox handy!

  4. You can add a $200m/quarter Health & Human Services fine against California for requiring health insurance companies to include abortion coverage. They just did this despite the fact Biden will overturn this in Week One.
