Associate Justice Samuel Alito’s remarks to the Federalist Society made one thing crystal clear: the culture wars are alive and well on the Supreme Court.

Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito recently gave a speech to the Federalist Society in which he claimed that COVID-19 restrictions have reduced freedom of religion to a “second-class” liberty. The majority of the Court agreed with him last Wednesday, November 25, 2020, when they decided New York Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo had abridged religious freedom by imposing occupancy limits on religious services to combat the coronavirus.
