    to understand obamas politics you should consider him a kenyan-american  [ like an irish or italian american ]. african american is acode term in the u.s. for slave ancestry and associated feelings. i was in the u.s. army in 1966 when this term [african american] was being popularized , legitimitized,  black troops were  suspicious of the term, to say the least. white troops tended to smirk when hearing or using it.
