Out-of-Control FBI to Former Head of 9/11 Investigation: Butt out!
by Russ Baker
The FBI doesn’t want anyone looking into new evidence of Saudi-9/11 ties. Why? And why would it have the temerity to tell a former chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee to butt out? If you don’t find this alarming, check your pulse.

WHO

So Far, NBC News Finds Brian Williams Embellished at Least 11 Times
NBC leaked the preliminary findings from its internal review of its mendacious mouthpiece. And if this is just the trickle preceding a coming flood, it looks like Williams’ career will be washed away with the tide. Thus far, investigators have found 11 separate instances of “embellishment” on by their flagship news personality. Eleven. Say “Goodnight,” Brian.

CIA Couldn’t Fully Use NSA Spy Program as Most Analysts Didn’t Know About It
It really sounds too good to be true, but, according to a newly-released document, most of the CIA was kept in the dark about the NSA’s Orwellian spy regime. Save for a few top officials, the Agency’s ignorance of the NSA’s capabilities precluded them from using those capabilities. This is either a sly red herring to create plausible deniability, or the CIA was finally kept out of the loop because they were on a need-to-know basis!

Betrayed: Why Reagan Would Be Ashamed of the Neocons
Conservative think-tanker Doug Bandow believes that the legacy of Ronald Reagan—who Bandow sees as a “de facto peacenik who was horrified by the prospect of needless war”—is being sullied by Neocon chickenhawks who erroneously claim the Gipper as their pole-star. On the other hand, Central America.

Katmandu: Before the Quake
The death toll continues to rise in the wake of a devastating earthquake—and the many aftershocks—that rocked Nepal. Video of the ancient city Kathmandu before the crushing quake is, sadly, juxtaposed by this shocking drone video of the city after the quake.

The Recession Isn’t Over For Many Families
If you listen to the mainstream media, Wall Street or the White House… “The Recovery” is in full-swing! But behind the irrational exuberance are some persistent problems and troublesome data. One notable fact is that the number of households with at least one unemployed individual is still higher than pre-Recession levels. Add that to stagnant wages, severe underemployment and rising housing costs, and it is obvious that “The Recovery” is concentrated at the top.

WHY

Chipotle Won’t Serve Genetically Modified Foods
America’s fastest-growing fast-food retailer just became the first major chain to dump GMOs. And last week Pepsi announced it is dropping the controversial sweetener aspartame from Diet Pepsi. Is it because these companies decided it was important to take an ethical stand? Nah. It’s because consumers don’t really want GMOs and aspartame. If consumers lead, corporations will follow… the money.
